We’re hearing from schools that impersonation accounts on TikTok and many other popular social media and gaming platforms are becoming a key online safety issue for schools. Tech platforms still currently lack robust verification systems to certify accounts (especially when it comes to private accounts), and despite community guidelines stipulating impersonation as a breach, impersonation accounts, whether created as a joke or for more sinister reasons, continue to trend in schools.
